Sing The Deep Midwinter was Sung!

For the past few years around Yuletide / Solstice we’ve joined with our friends and loved ones in each others’ homes to sing carols, play instruments, share merriment and enjoy each others’ company. It’s usually ended up with us rolling up a carpet and dancing till we flop.

Earlier this year, we sat down with our friends Blanche Rowan and Mike Gulston and decided to do it bigger, open it up and share the good times with all comers in the beautiful, atmospheric surroundings of historic Insole Court in North Cardiff.

Dates were booked, musicians summoned and plans set in motion to organise a fun-filled frolic of a festive feast, with entertainments from ourselves and other local ‘Artistes’, a huge Mass Yule Sing and dancing till we dropped.   All of this was preceded by a Seasonal Singing workshop with me, Blanche and Jonathan team teaching.  On the day –  16th December 2018 – many of our friends and a large number of soon to be friends got together. To our delight and amazement, we were completely sold out for as many people as we could squeeze in! It was such a great success, we’re planning another one for next year…  And maybe some May Carols.. and a Georgian Song Feast… Oh and definitely a Wassail…..

The lighting was not great for photos but here’s a few pics
